- Use the portal's own Verify RERA Registration tool, or browse Registered Projects under its Search menu.
- Search the registration number, not the marketing name. The register is indexed on the number, and the number is the only thing that binds a certificate to one specific project and one specific promoter.
- Read the project name the certificate returns and compare it against the name you were quoted. If those two do not match, the number does not cover the project you are being shown — and the right next question is which registration, if any, does.
The practical rule this leads to is worth carrying past this page: a document protects you only for the project it names. A cost sheet, a payment schedule or a registration certificate handed to you under one project's name governs that project and tells you nothing you can rely on about another — however adjacent the two are, and however similar their marketing. Before relying on any paper, ask in writing which named project it belongs to.
